Recommended guided hours 100 consisting of contact teaching and student centred learning. Students must hold a recognised full, current First Aid Certificate.

Cells and tissues
The muscular system.
The endocrine system.
The genito-urinary system.
The neurological system.
The respiratory systems.
The Skin
Additional theory sections comprises of:
Prevention of sports injuries.
Contra-indications to sports massage.
The use of using heat and cooling techniques and rationale for choice.
Sports Nutrition and its impact for recovery.
Remedial exercises including passive, active and resistive.
The practical massage element covers;
Pre-event and post-event massage.
Preventative massage techniques
Practical injury management
Students are required to compile case studies – five clients to be
treated three times each.
Sessions start
